At Emerald Lake Ranch you will meet your guide Joni MacKinnon. At the Ranch you will see an authentic prospector / trapper's cabin complete with a sod roof. Here Joni will relate to you the hardships the newcomers or "Cheechakos" faced in the Yukon.
After saddling up we will ride through the high country for some of the best scenery in the Yukon Territory. This tour is the only one that takes you to the back hills behind Emerald Lake for the best photo opportunities available of the magnificent colors.
Back in the solitude of the mountains your guide will stop on top the mountains, where clients can stretch their legs, visit with their guide, spot for game and have group photo opportunities.
Continuing on throughout the backcountry, riding on old wagon trails we will arrive back at the Ranch. "The Old Fashioned Cookhouse" will look mighty inviting after being in the saddle. Your guide will join you over cowboy coffee, soda and a variety of snacks as everyone reminisces after the trail ride.
After the snack, you will head back to Skagway with photos, memories and tales to tell of the spectacular Yukon experience that you will cherish for a lifetime.
